Senior Fund Accountant - Real Assets (Kilkenny)

Reports to Financial Reporting Manager

We opened our doors in Ireland in March 2023, with the opening of our office in Co. Kilkenny’s historic Marble City. We are now looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to join our Real Assets team. The purpose of this position is to carry out routine day-to-day accounting of Fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager. You will be based from our office in Kilkenny where we operate a hybrid working model. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Bookkeep a complex range of funds, SPVs and associated fund structures and liaise with clients and intermediaries as necessary.
  • Complete all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of fund structures, including the proper review of daily posting of invoices, bank books, the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements, and ad-hoc investor queries.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained on accounting system, investor platform and Microsoft Excel working papers for all required aspects of different significant financial statements line items.
  • Review the periodic bank reconciliations and provide supporting documentation evidencing transactions.
  • Deal with the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns.
  • Deal with the completion of routine audit queries and requests.
  • Manage client communications on daily operations for the entities assigned.
  • Assist managers in complex transactions i.e., acquisitions and disposals accounting.
  • Be in a position to prepare accounting deliverables on period basis i.e., consolidation packs, stand-alone reporting packs and investor’s capital statements.
  • Act as a mentor to the junior staff members under the supervision of the fund accountant.

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
  • PQ or Qualified Accountant
  • Experience and knowledge of investment funds is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of working in a financial services environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines
  • Proven team-work skills
  • Good decision-making skills

You will need to be quick to learn new systems and great with people, as we value close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts.
