Reports to AML Manager

This role will provide support to the team based in Jersey, specialising in Anti-money Laundering (AML) and the Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT).  The individual will assist with ensuring that Client Due Diligence (CDD) requirements are satisfied both pre and post client / investor on-boarding for the Aztec Guernsey, Jersey and UK offices. 

The role requires daily liaison with client facing teams within Aztec.

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake CDD enquiries and collate documentation in line with Aztec Policy
  • Ensure accurate and complete CDD records are maintained to cover new and existing business, and to include onboardings, name changes, transfers of interest and changes in structure
  • Perform sanctions and adverse media screening to determine acceptability of potential new clients and investors
  • Review and assess CDD files to evaluate the inherent AML risk in order to form an appropriate risk assessment and where appropriate escalate cases to the AML managers as required
  • Provide guidance to Administration teams and key stakeholders to ensure CDD files are prepared accurately, completely and in a timely manner
  • Ensure adherence to AML laws, regulations, guidelines and company policies and procedures in the relevant jurisdictions
  • Perform and monitor timely completion of CDD periodic review cycle
  • Remain fully up to date with anti-money laundering legislations and guidance in the relevant jurisdictions with an awareness of developing money laundering methodologies and policies where necessary

Skills, knowledge, expertise:

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Able to demonstrate a team player attitude
  • A self-starter with a proactive and dynamic style and a high degree of attention to detail
  • An analytical approach with good research skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality standards
  • A high-level of integrity and professionalism
  • Some knowledge of Funds and the AML regimes in Jersey, Guernsey or the UK would be an advantage but not essential
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft products, in particular Word and Excel
