Aztec Southampton team's mountainous challenge raises over £2,000 for Solent Mind

A team of eight intrepid accountants from our Southampton office who took on the daunting Three Peaks Challenge have raised over £2,000 for local Southampton mental health charity Solent Mind.

The notorious challenge involves scaling the highest mountains in England (Scafell Pike, 978m), Scotland (Ben Nevis, 1345m) and Wales (Snowdon, 1085m) within a single 24 hour time period. With a total walking distance of 23 miles, total ascent of 3,064m and driving distance in between of 462 miles, it’s not for the faint hearted!

Our team of Matt Costen, Dave Bridger, Jimmy Comfort, Hayley Glyn-Jones, Adam Huston, Harry Roberts, Carly Taylor and Aimee Wheeler completed the epic undertaking in an impressive 23 hours and 4 minutes after deducting travel delays. With individual sponsorship donations of £1,784, and a £250 top-up from Aztec, they succeeded in raising just over £2,000 for Solent Mind in the process!

If you’re curious about just what it takes to scale the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in less than 24 hours, read Matt’s personal account of the challenge, and a selection of stunning photos!
