Shape Your Career, Your Way at Aztec
Many believe that careers in financial services follow a fixed path, the culture is formal, and growth happens slowly. But speak to people here at Aztec and you’ll hear something very different.
From early-career colleagues finding their feet, to experienced professionals stepping into new markets and transformation projects, the thread that runs through these stories is clear: at Aztec, your career is yours to shape.
It’s shaped by the opportunities you put your hand up for, by the managers who back you, and it’s shaped by a culture that treats development as part of the day job, not an extra.

A career that moves as fast as Aztec does
For Giorgio, the dynamic pace of change has been one of the most defining parts of his Aztec journey. He joined as a Payroll and Compliance Manager in Luxembourg and quickly found himself in a business that is constantly evolving: new tools, new programmes, new ways of working, and new opportunities to contribute.
That evolution meant that Giorgio’s role didn’t stay still for long. From Payroll and compliance, he moved into global mobility strategy, and more recently into supporting the roll out of Workday – a shift that’s given him a much wider view of how things operate across the business.
The pace only works because it’s matched with support. There’s an understanding that people are learning as they go, trying something new isn’t frowned upon, and getting things wrong is seen as part of the process, not as failure.
“They understand that we are human, it’s normal to make mistakes. There’s no blame.”
You don’t have to ‘wait your turn’ to grow
Jenny’s story is a powerful reminder that confidence doesn’t always arrive first; sometimes you build it by stepping forward anyway.
Jenny joined Aztec in September 2022 after meeting the team at a careers fair, where she asked direct questions about culture and what it’s like to work here – especially as a woman. The answers she received felt authentic and human, and that stuck with her.
Since then, her progression has been steady; moving from Trainee Fund Administrator to promotions in 2023 and again in January 2025. But it’s what she did alongside the day job that really rounded out her experience: joining Sports & Social and Wellbeing, becoming captain, building connections across the Guernsey office, and staying involved in peer forums to help represent colleague voices.
For Jenny, the biggest career accelerators were relational: trust from her manager, early responsibility, and the chance to coach juniors and delegate. That belief –from –the top helped her grow into the role, not just do it.
“Having the trust from my manager from the get-go really encouraged me and helped me feel like I was able to fulfil my role.”
A culture built around growth and genuine connection
Across these stories, a few defining Aztec themes stand out:
- Speak up and opportunities follow. Giorgio’s involvement in Workday began with a simple “I’m here to help”, and Aztec listened.
- You’re supported as a whole human. From buddy systems and peer forums to managers who make space for questions and learning, development is embedded in the experience.
- Belonging is built on purpose. Whether it’s committees, socials, or those small “good mornings” in the office, the culture is intentionally human-centred.
If you’re looking for a place where you can do meaningful work and build a career that reflects your strengths, interests and ambition, Aztec is designed for that.
Come curious. Put your hand up. Talk to people beyond your immediate team. Build relationships. And when an opportunity appears, don’t overthink it.
“Never say no to an opportunity. You can only be better after a new experience” – Giorgio
