Aztec Group Appoints Charina Amunategui as Global Client Relationship Lead

Aztec Group has appointed Charina Amunategui as Global Client Relationship Lead, based in New York. The appointment reinforces Aztec’s commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences, combining specialist expertise, service excellence and technology-enabled solutions to help alternative asset managers navigate increasing complexity and scale for growth.

Charina will lead strategic relationships with Aztec’s key global clients, working across jurisdictions and service lines to strengthen partnerships, support strategic growth initiatives and ensure exceptional service delivery. As part of Aztec’s U.S. leadership team, she will also work closely with Scott Kraemer, Head of U.S. Markets, and other senior leaders to align Aztec’s capabilities, people and technology with clients’ evolving needs.

Charina joins Aztec from MUFG Investor Services, where she was Executive Director, Fund Finance, leading strategic relationships with private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure clients and overseeing senior client coverage, business development and the delivery of fund financing solutions. Prior to that, she served as Executive Director, Business Execution, for a newly acquired fund services business, with responsibility for operations, technology integration, risk management, financial performance and client service delivery.

“Charina’s appointment adds further strength to our leadership team as we continue to grow in the U.S.,” said Scott Kraemer, Head of U.S. Markets at Aztec Group. “She brings a powerful combination of strategic relationship management, operational leadership and deep industry expertise. Her experience working with leading alternative asset managers, combined with a client-first approach, makes her a strong addition to the team. As client expectations continue to evolve, Charina will play an important role in ensuring we continue to deliver the high-quality service, insight and partnership our clients value.”

Charina Amunategui commented: “Aztec has built a reputation for delivering exceptional service and developing trusted partnerships with clients across the alternative investments industry. I’m excited to join the Group at this pivotal point in its growth journey and look forward to working closely with our clients and teams around the world.”

Charina holds an MBA from Yale University and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). She also serves as Board Treasurer of Inspiring Girls USA and Co-Chair of the Global Advisory Council of 100 Women in Finance.

Charina’s appointment, alongside other recent senior hires, reflects both the momentum and scale of Aztec’s progress and the ambition of its next phase of growth as the firm continues to strengthen its position as a premium long-term partner to private markets clients globally.
