The Jersey Tristars, founded in 2005, is a sports club for children aged 7 years and over, aiming to introduce the sport of triathlon in addition to promoting a fun and healthy lifestyle. Led by British Triathlon qualified coaches, the sessions are competitive and fun and see the Tristars training and racing in the pool, the sea and on the track.
We have recently teamed up with the Tristars through initial discussions with Director, Mark Wanless, whose two children are part of the club. Alongside the One Foundation we hope to aid the club in its growth and success locally as well as promoting opportunities for members to race further afield. Aztec Jersey Tristars support the athletic journeys of over 60 Island children, with some participating in races in the UK and France, and we are delighted to come on board to help continue this success.

The club has ambitious plans to grow and develop young Jersey triathletes and the Aztec Group is delighted to have the opportunity to support those plans.”
The club provides children with the tools to develop their athletic abilities and achieve their personal goals which might otherwise have been out of their deserved reach. The club additionally opened the ‘Aztec Triathlon Academy’ in 2015 with our support which provides the specialised training necessary for children who show potential of competing at a higher national level.
Three young Jersey triathletes who have recently proved the importance of the organisation represented Jersey at the British Inter Regional Championships at Mallory Park Leicestershire on 6, September 2015. Peter Holmes (13), Jack Kennedy (13) and Lily Mc Garry’s (14) dedication to the sport led to them proudly representing the Aztec Jersey Tristars. This was the first time any triathlete has represented the island at this prestigious event, demonstrating the importance and impact of our continued sponsorship. Chairman of the Aztec Jersey Tristars, Fintan Kennedy commented, “Participating in the British Inter Regional Championships is a significant step up for these young athletes who have dedicated their summers to training on a daily basis, the club is very proud of them.”
