Chief Digital Officer

As Chief Digital Officer Charlotte has overall responsibility for the Aztecs digital and technology ambition which involves reimagining what great digital experiences look like for our clients and our staff and making sure both internal and external digital and technology priorities are being addressed. As part of this role Charlotte has oversight of the Technology department with a remit that covers strategy, systems management, change delivery and service delivery, ensuring the technology strategy is aligned to the wider digital agenda and that Aztec has the technology systems and tools required to deliver against the business plan. Charlotte is also responsible for all Technology operations making sure that we have robust controls protecting ourselves and our clients within a secure and resilient framework.

Based in the UK, Charlotte sits on the Aztec Group Executive Board, with a Group-wide remit across all operational jurisdictions.

Background and experience

Charlotte joined the Group in March 2021, is a technology transformation specialist, who brings a breadth and depth of experience from different industries including media, medical, and retail. She also has a background of working directly in the technology sector.

She was previously the Chief Information Officer at Channel 4, where she and her team defined, delivered, and supported Channel 4’s technology strategy and systems with a specific focus on the digital product agenda. Charlotte brings extensive experience in digital and new technology and how it applies in all aspects of business – from driving innovation to managing day-to day-operations.

She spent the first part of her career in a range of senior business development and consulting roles with IBM and BUPA, before joining Specsavers. As IT Director initially in Supply Chain and subsequently responsible for Corporate Systems, Charlotte was responsible for managing all aspects of Specsavers’s IT strategy, demand and delivery to their corporate lines of business.

Charlotte is also an Advisory Board Member of the Institute of Coding. Here, she supports the development of digital skills initiatives in line with business demand by sharing insights and context into industry needs and demands.

Qualifications

  • Masters’ Degree in Applied Marine Science with Ecotoxicology from the University of Plymouth
  • Degree in Environmental Science with Archaeology from the University of Winchester

Outside of the office

Charlotte enjoys family time relaxing at home and keeping fit with yoga and using her Peloton bike. She also enjoys travel especially in Africa, and her favourite destination is the Madikwe Game Reserve on the border of South Africa and Botswana for peace and respite away from technology and the hustle of work.
