Background and experience
Having originally joined the Group in 2006, Michael has taken a variety of roles throughout his career at Aztec.
Michael played a key role in the launch of Aztec’s first US office, in the due diligence and planning stage right through to spending two years in situ as Co-Lead of the office working with our European corridor clients and our first US Managers locally. This experience means Michael has a unique view of the challenges and opportunities faced by our clients when considering investing and fundraising on both sides of the Atlantic.
Prior to his stint in the US, Michael was Director within our 200 – strong private equity and venture capital team in Jersey taking responsibility for a number of different relationship teams across a broad spectrum of clients.
Michael’s expertise in the client outsourcing experience includes the onboarding, migration and regulatory process for numerous clients and support to several first-time fund clients with the development of their back-office function, including the implementation of their systems, processes and controls. He has also held a number of general partner board positions, supporting clients with the governance of their fund structures.
Prior to joining the Group, Michael’s first professional role in the financial services industry was as a Client Services Executive for Abacus Financial Services Group, where he spent six years.
Qualifications
- Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
- ACCA-Certified Accounting Technician.
- Degree in Business Administration from Northampton University.
- Registered person with the Jersey Financial Services Commission.
