Aztec Group supports Highland Europe on €1.1 billion close of Fund VI

Aztec Group has supported long-time partner, Highland Europe, a growth-stage technology investment firm, on the successful close of Highland Europe Technology Growth VI LP (“Fund VI”), a Jersey-domiciled fund with commitments of €1.1 billion. Fund VI is set to continue backing Europe’s next generation of technology leaders.

Since 2012, Aztec has provided full administration services to Highland Europe from its Jersey office, drawing on its specialist private equity expertise and long-standing knowledge of Highland’s platform.

The close of Fund VI follows a strong period for Highland Europe, including more than €1 billion of liquidity generated during 2026. Recent portfolio milestones include the $3 billion sale of Nexthink, the agreed sale of Huel to Danone, the $7.5 billion merger of EGYM and Playlist, and Bending Spoons’ Nasdaq listing with a market capitalisation of over $18 billion.

Jonny Evans, Director – Private Equity, at Aztec Group, said: “I’m proud of the Aztec team that continues  to support Highland Europe as it backs some of Europe’s most ambitious growth-stage technology businesses. This close reflects the strength of our long-standing partnership and our ability to combine specialist market expertise with scalable, technology-enabled solutions.”

Ronan Shally, CFO at Highland Europe, said: “The successful close of Fund VI reflects the continued confidence our investors place in Highland Europe and our strategy of backing exceptional growth-stage technology companies across Europe. As we continue to scale our platform, trusted partners are essential. Aztec Group has been a valued partner since our first fund, combining deep technical expertise with a responsive approach that has helped support our growth over the past 14 years.”

This close of Highland Europe’s Fund VI is the latest in a series of significant fundraises supported by Aztec Group, including NextEnergy Capital’s US$974 million close of NextPower V, reinforcing Aztec’s position as a partner of choice for private markets managers seeking specialist, scalable support across the fund lifecycle.
