Background and experience
Chris initially joined the Group in 2013 as a Senior Client Relationship Manager, assuming overall responsibility for a portfolio of private equity and real asset clients. Chris rose to the position of Associate Director in 2015, during which time Chris became head of the Guernsey Real Assets team as well as becoming part of the Group’s Real Assets leadership team. Chris was appointed to the role of Director in 2019
Prior to this, having moved from his native Scotland in 2005, Chris was a Senior Audit Manager with KPMG in Guernsey where he spent six years followed by a two year secondment to New Zealand, where he spent almost two years.
During his tenure with KPMG, Chris specialised in the provision of audit services to alternative investment funds and captive insurance companies.
Chris’ first professional role was as a trainee accountant at Whitelaw Wells in Edinburgh, joining the firm shortly after earning his degree.
Qualifications
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (chartered accountant).
- BCom Degree in Business Studies and Accounting from the University of Edinburgh.
Outside of the office
In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his young family, travelling and keeping fit at various gym classes. He is also a keen scuba diver, having achieved an Advanced Open Water Diver certification from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (or PADI).
