Background and experience
Following the introduction of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive in 2013, Dave joined Aztec to establish our depositary offering in the UK. Since then he has played a pivotal role in the development of a Group-wide operating platform and in securing new depositary relationships across all the major asset classes in the UK, US and mainland Europe. Dave was promoted to Group Head of Depositary Services in 2020 when he assumed responsibility for the strategic development of our depositary service offering including service delivery to our existing clients, client and business development, our operating model and regulatory compliance.
Dave also led the establishment of Aztec’s business in Ireland, including developing our location strategy, leading our engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland, recruiting our local team in Ireland and working with local stakeholders and government bodies.
Dave was promoted to Group Head of Client Services in 2023 where his knowledge of Aztec, our clients, culture and operating model will be put to good use as we seek to develop our service offering to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the alternatives markets globally.
Prior to joining Aztec, Dave held a managerial role in PwC’s Government and Public Sector Assurance division, leading several external and internal audit and accounting advisory engagements. He spent nine years at PwC, having joined their Assurance Graduate Scheme upon leaving university and qualified as a chartered accountant with them.
Qualifications
- Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (Chartered Accountant).
- Degree in Economics from the University of Bath (2:1).
Outside of the office
Dave’s second home is the football pitch – he plays regularly and is a qualified coach, supporting both boys and girls to play, enjoy and develop in the game he loves. His two young sons – Jordan and Jacob – are also keen footballers.
