Background and experience
The very first member of our business development team, James joined us in 2008 to spearhead the Group’s growth agenda and establish our presence in London.
Responsible for raising our profile among key intermediaries and client prospects operating in the UK, James was also the driving force behind many of the Group’s regional marketing and promotional activities at the time. This contributed to the onboarding of a broad range of clients, from first-time funds and mid-market promoters to some of Europe’s largest fund managers.
James also played an instrumental role in expanding the Group’s reach beyond private equity and into new markets, including real estate, infrastructure, private debt and other major asset classes.
Before joining the Group, James spent just under 16 years working for Barclays, having initially enrolled onto their graduate scheme in 1992. While he accepted the role in London, he went on to be seconded to East Anglia and Guernsey. By the time he left Barclays in 2008, he had risen to the position of Client Relationship Manager.
