Background and experience
Jim joined the Aztec Group in 2007 as a Financial Reporting Manager based in our Jersey office. In this role, he was responsible for the preparation of accounts and financial reports for a portfolio of private equity and real assets clients.
A year later, Jim relocated to our, at the time, newly opened Luxembourg office to lead the establishment of their accountancy function. This key role entailed building the team and implementing processes and procedures, including a consistent Group-wide approach to financial reporting, whilst adapting them to the jurisdiction.
Jim transferred to our Southampton office in April 2011 to support with the launch of our UK onshore offering. Initially focused on developing our onshore financial reporting, as new clients were partnered with, Jim’s mandate expanded to cover management of those key client relationships and support of promotional and other business development activities that further aided the growth of the Group’s presence in the UK.
Jim’s first professional role in the financial services sector was with Alex Picot Chartered Accountants, a five-partner firm in Jersey. There he qualified as an accountant and progressed to having responsibility for tax, audit and accounts preparation for a diverse portfolio of clients. Before joining the Aztec Group, Jim moved from Alex Picot to another Jersey-based independent firm, Rosscot, where he broadened his knowledge of audit, accounts preparation, tax and further developed his management skills.
