Background and experience
Kathryn has extensive leadership experience in financial services, having undertaken both executive and non-executive roles within several major organisations including as Chief Risk Officer of Partnership Life Assurance, a listed life insurer; Chief Executive Officer of IFG plc, a financial services holding company; Chair of Redington, a UK investment consultancy; and Chair of Saunderson House, a UK wealth management company. Kathryn also served as a Non-executive Director of FTSE 100-listed Intermediate Capital Group plc between 2018 and 2020 and remains a Non-executive Director, and Chair of the Risk Committee, of Nucleus, a PE-backed platform business. Kathryn has significant experience in capital markets, M&A, strategy, corporate governance and risk & compliance within both listed and privately-owned companies.
Kathryn started her career in investment banking and then moved into private equity, gaining experience at both major institutions (UBS and Deutsche Bank’s direct investing businesses) and within a smaller PE fund (Phoenix Equity Partners, a UK mid-market fund manager). She spent four years at Phoenix Equity Partners before joining Partnership Life Assurance where she was a key member of the leadership team through a highly successful PE ownership period, culminating in the listing of the business in 2013 at a c.£1.5bn valuation.
Qualifications
Kathryn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Business Studies from the University of Edinburgh.
Outside of the office
Away from the office, Kathryn and her husband are kept busy raising their three boys. Weekends are spent on the side of wet rugby pitches, while longer holidays are spent skiing or travelling further afield.
