Background and Experience
Richard is Chair of Goat Group and represents Goat on the Aztec Group Board as a Non-Executive Director. Richard holds board chair and non-executive director positions which include Chair of Liberty Mutual Managing Agency, one of the largest Lloyds of London insurance syndicates, and a non-executive director and Senior Independent Director of Nucleus Financial Platforms and Compare the Market. Richard was previously Chair of BGL Insurance Group, with a leading role in its successful sale.
Throughout his three decade long executive career, Richard held multiple senior executive positions. These include CEO of Aviva North America, where he was a member of the Aviva Group Executive Team, CFO of AIG’s Global Commercial Insurance business, CFO of Hastings Insurance Group, which he took public through an IPO, and CFO of Old Mutual US and Acting Group FD at Old Mutual.
Qualifications
Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Business Studies from Sheffield University and is a Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
