Background and experience
He has held senior IT positions in finance, professional services, retail, natural resources, technology, and education for a wide variety of blue-chip organisations including Rothschild, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), ICAP, NEX, Harrods Bank, RBS, PWC and ICL. He has extensive international experience with global organizations from assignments in Europe, Asia and four years living in the U.S.
Since leaving Rothschild in 2010 where Steve was Managing Director of IT and a member of the bank’s board, he set up his own company to provide advice and guidance on a wide range of IT topics, and to provide services as an interim CIO / CTO and CISO.
IT security has been a growing concern in recent years, and Steve has assisted companies to determine the correct security position for their business. He has a rare combination of deep insight into technology while understanding how to deliver effectiveness and functionality within a robust yet non-intrusive security framework.
Steve has had articles published on a range of IT topics including the more productive management of outsourced services, IT security, and the ability to generate effective innovation at lower cost and risk. Steve is also an advisory board member of an Israeli technology company specialising in data protection, recovery, and secure data transmission.
