Aztec Group today announced several senior leadership changes in Luxembourg, further strengthening its capability to support clients across private markets. Client Relationship Lead, Francesca Raffa and Global Head of Investor Services, Maria von Oldenskiöld have been appointed Co‑Heads of Luxembourg, as Loïc Choquet steps down from his role after three and a half years with the Group.
In addition to their current roles, Francesca and Maria will jointly oversee the jurisdiction’s strategic and operational leadership, including regulatory responsibilities, working alongside the Group’s 700-plus Luxembourg employees to deliver exceptional client service, regulatory compliance and robust governance, as well as continued enhancements in technology. They will also be supported by Group Head of Depositary Services, Eva Devine and Group Head of AIFM Services, Paul Conroy, whose extensive Luxembourg market knowledge and experience strengthen the leadership team.
Sean Barrett and Ian Charoub have also been appointed to lead Private Equity in Luxembourg, deepening leadership in one of Aztec’s core service areas and further enhancing support for clients across increasingly sophisticated private equity structures.
Sean Hagerty, Interim Chief Executive Officer at Aztec Group, said: “We are delighted to appoint Francesca and Maria to lead our Luxembourg team, alongside Ian and Sean as heads of Private Equity. They are strong, experienced leaders with deep knowledge of our business, our clients and the Luxembourg market. Their appointments reflect both the strength of our leadership team and our continued investment in Luxembourg, which remains central to our European growth strategy.”
“We sincerely thank Loïc for his significant contribution to Aztec over the last three and a half years – particularly his exemplary leadership, his role in establishing our Centres of Excellence and his active involvement in Luxembourg community and diversity activities. His energy and commitment have been greatly valued, and we wish him every success in his next chapter.”
Commenting on the appointment, Maria von Oldenskiöld said: “Our strength lies in the expertise of our teams and the diverse, multicultural environment we operate in – qualities that directly shape the experience we deliver to clients and investors. I look forward to working with our teams to further strengthen our capabilities and support the next phase of growth in Luxembourg.”
Francesca Raffa added: “It is a privilege to take on this role, and I am grateful to our Luxembourg teams for the commitment, integrity and collaboration they demonstrate every day. Together with colleagues across the business, our priority will be to build on this momentum and continue shaping an environment where everyone can contribute and thrive.”
The appointments follow a series of recent senior hires as Aztec Group continues to scale in key markets, including Akbar Sheriff as Chief Client Success Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Sean Hagerty as Executive Chair and Interim Chief Executive Officer and Sam Metland as Head of Product and Propositions.
